Negotiate, draft, and administer sponsorship, endorsement and appearance agreements. Counsel clients with respect to their branding and marketing strategies.   • Staff Attorney: Member of the Litigation Group. Conducted research, wrote legal memoranda, and consulted with other Ober, Kaler attorneys regarding various Intellectual Property issues, including the transfer and use of patent rights within government grant guidelines and potential legal liability stemming from a meta search website operator's use of deep linking, framing, and "bots" to retrieve and aggregate information. Additionally, researched and wrote legal memoranda regarding Intellectual Property matters, including mark mutilation, material alterations made to a mark, and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board procedure for obtaining and submitting a consent agreement. Drafted Response to United States Patent and Trademark Office Action refusing registration based on a Section 2(d) likelihood of confusion analysis for a Fortune 500 subsidiary. Reviewed and analyzed electronic discovery documents related to a complex construction litigation matter between a contractor and equipment supplier for a power plant located in Puerto Rico, as well as, to a government issued subpoena of a large pharmaceuticals manufacturer. Met regularly with firm principals to discuss findings, report progress, and plan ongoing discovery process.
